Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is an operation for women who are uncomfortable with the large size of their breasts both physically and mentally. Even at a young age women with overly large breasts can experience sagging, neck and upper back pain, and skin rashes, not to mention social discomfort over their breast size.

After undergoing breast reduction surgery, these same women find that they have almost the exact same body they had before the operation except with breasts that they can be proud of and that do not cause them physical discomfort.

The breast reduction procedure will take two to three hours and is performed in the hospital, but you will be able to leave the same day. New techniques will keep scarring to a minimum. Some of the risks with breast reduction surgery include visible scarring, loss of sensation, and problems healing.

If you have overly large breasts that cause you physical discomfort, please contact board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Ciaravino to schedule a consultation, and find out if breast reduction is the right choice for you. Dr. Ciaravino serves the Houston and Sugar Land, Texas area, but has patients who have come to see him from around the world.

Tummy Tuck

If, for any reason, you have sagging or stretch-marked skin around your abdomen you may want to consider a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, as an option for removing the excess skin that is getting in the way of you having the body you want. Many people choose to combine a tummy tuck with liposuction in order to better define the abdominal muscles or a breast augmentation to provide a more complete full body makeover. Dr. Michael Ciaravino has the ability to help you get the body you have always dreamed of.

Tummy Tuck Procedure

The tummy tuck procedure begins by administering a general anesthetic. Dr. Ciaravino then begins by making a small incision below the bikini line and one more around the navel. At this point, if liposuction is needed, excess fat is removed from around the belly and sutures are placed along the stomach muscles to achieve a more defined look for the stomach. The excess skin is then removed and the skin and navel are reattached at the incision points.

If you are thinking about getting a tummy tuck and you live in Houston or Sugar Land, Texas or the surrounding areas, please contact the office of Dr. Michael Ciaravino to have any questions you might have about this operation answered by one of the leading plastic surgeons in the nation.

The Importance of Post Operative Garments

Ladies, we want to take this moment to talk to you a bit about the importance of wearing your compression garments after surgery. We know they may be a little uncomfortable and a bit of a nuisance, but trust us when we say, it's definitely worth it! Believe it or not, your garment can play a big role in promoting and maintaining your results.

Liposuction or tummy tuck patients, in order for you to maintain your results and prevent fluid from collecting, the garment is a must! The compression garment helps guide the skin in its retracion. It plays an important role in tightening the skin, reducing the swelling and promoting better blood and fluid circulation. It also helps to ensure maximum skin contraction and that the skin heals evenly, without unwanted folds or creases. The garment must be worn for a minimum of 6 weeks.

For breast surgery patients your garment is also very important. Your bra should be worn day and night for the first two weeks! Also, in order to help maintain your new shape, we strongly recommend that you wear your bra or any good, supportive top when you sleep from here on out. All garments may of course be removed before showering, but should otherwise be worn 24/7. Keep in mind that we also have different colors and styles in stock if you would like to purchase more.

Your happiness is extremely important to us. As a result, we want to make sure you have the most up to date information and tools you need in order to achieve the absolute best results possible. We hope this information was helpful and as always, do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions regarding your post op instructions.

Liposuction

Liposuction procedures are generally for those people who have tried exercise and dieting without results and still want to get the body they envision when they look in the mirror. If you are healthy and need help getting rid of stubborn body fat on your belly, thighs, hips, or chin then you may be a good candidate for liposuction.

Dr. Michael Ciaravino
has performed hundreds of procedures on varying body types. Choosing the right plastic surgeon will have dramatic effects on the results of your procedure. Dr. Ciaravino uses the latest in liposuction techniques that makes your recovery faster and your results more pleasing.

Tumescent Liposuction

Unlike traditional methods of performing liposuction, tumescent liposuction has a high safety rating and gives the patients better results while reducing the recovery time by more than half. A smaller incision is used as well as a smaller cannula, which leaves a much less visible scar at the incision point. Traditional methods are accompanied by a significant loss of blood and a transfusion is sometimes necessary. The tumescent procedure involves much less blood loss and is done on an outpatient basis.

If you have tried everything to lose excess body fat from stubborn areas of the body, but nothing has given you the results you want, please contact board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Ciaravino and schedule a consultation to discuss whether or not liposuction is right for you. Dr. Ciaravino serves Houston, Texas and surrounding areas.
