One of the most exciting developments in the battle against aging, BOTOX® effectively improves forehead creases, frown lines (between the eyes), and lines around the eyes. While anesthesia is not required, Dr. Ciaravino uses a technique designed to maximize patient comfort. Using a tiny needle, a small amount of BOTOX® is injected into the muscle under the skin. Over the next few days the muscle weakens, the overlying skin relaxes, and the wrinkle gradually softens. In many cases, it virtually disappears!

Dr. Ciaravino also uses BOTOX® to raise the outer eyebrows, creating the beautiful shape often seen on models. Many young patients in their 20’s and 30’s are undergoing BOTOX® treatments for this desired effect.

In 2006, over 3 million patients were treated with BOTOX®, making it the most popular aesthetic procedure in the US for several years in a row. The effects last 3 to 6 months and patient satisfaction is incredibly high.

Dr. Ciaravino offers a variety of procedures to give you full, sensuous lips. Currently, our most popular method of lip enhancement is JUVÉDERM™. JUVÉDERM™ is an injectable gel which acts as a “dermal filler” to add volume to the lips. It is composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance which occurs naturally in skin. JUVÉDERM™, which was approved by the FDA in 2006, has been widely used in Europe for several years with excellent results. Results are temporary and generally require treatment once or twice per year. Restylane® is another popular dermal filler.

Injectable fillers such as JUVÉDERM™ are also very effective in the treatment of deep facial folds (such as the nasolabial folds which run from the nose to the corner of the mouth) and other lines around the mouth. The product is essentially adding volume to “fill in” the deep crease. Results are immediate and very naturally looking.
