Questions about Cosmetic Surgery
Houston, Texas
If you are interested in plastic surgery, you probably have many questions. Part of the process is educating yourself prior to coming in to see the doctor. Here are a few of the most commonly asked questions.
What are your credentials?
Dr. Ciaravino has received several awards and accolades for his skill as a plastic surgeon. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and more. He routinely has patients who are in magazines including Maxim, Glamour, and Playboy. Dr. Ciaravino performs over 700 breast augmentation procedures every year.
What procedures do you perform?
Dr. Ciaravino performs several different body enhancing procedures including breast augmentation, liposuction, and tummy tuck. Non-surgical skin care procedures BOTOX® and Juvéderm™ are also available at the Houston office of Dr. Ciaravino.
What can I expect during my consultation?
Your initial consultation with Dr. Ciaravino is one of the most important steps in your plastic surgery procedure. This is where you tell Dr. Ciaravino what your aesthetic goals are, as well as any concerns you might have. You will also be able to ask lots of questions.
Dr. Ciaravino will tell you what can realistically be accomplished, answer your questions, and show you before and after photos. He will also perform a physical exam. This is where you begin building a relationship with Dr. Ciaravino and his staff.
What are the risks involved with breast augmentation?
As with any type of surgery, there are some risks. Fortunately, with breast augmentation, the risks are very small. Your safety is of the number one priority to Dr. Ciaravino and his staff. Some of the risks of breast augmentation include infection, hematoma, and displacement of the implant. Some women can see or feel the edge of their implants. Implant deflation is also possible, as is capsular contracture – a tightening of the scar tissue around the implant.
Again, these risks are small, but you should be aware of them.
These are just some of the many questions you will probably have if you are seeking plastic surgery. If you are interested in plastic surgery or have questions about the procedures, please contact experienced plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Ciaravino.
