What can I expect from BOTOX?

BOTOX® is made from sterile Botulinum Toxin A, which prevents the contraction of muscles. In a simple office procedure, a small amount of BOTOX® is injected into the muscle immediately beneath the wrinkle. Over the next few days the muscle becomes weaker and the overlying skin relaxes. This causes the wrinkle to soften and become less noticeable. In some cases, the wrinkle completely disappears.

What is recovery like after BOTOX?

There is little discomfort and anesthesia is not required. Side effects are minimal but may include minor redness at the injection site. There is no downtime following BOTOX injections in Houston and you may resume your normal daily life immediately after the treatment, though we advise refraining from exercise for a few hours.
